I would like to hear from those of you who over the winter of 20-21 when we had that ridiculous cold spell answer a question for me. Were any of you signed up for the ONG fixed price per decatherm that winter? If so, are you getting that $6 or $8 addon charge each month for the next 20 years that the CC allowed ONG to recoup what they had to spend on the spot market to keep the gas flowing? If so, you should file a complaint with the CC, ONG, your state reps, and the news media. You took an offered gamble with ONG to lock in at their projected rate. You might have won or lost depending on what the market did. Well the market went wild and you won, but wait, you are now being charged for their loss. That is pure BS. That's like playing blackjack at the casino and winning a big pot, but if you continued to play, the casino put a 10% fee on all your future bets to get their money back. I would not be happy. You should not have to pay this addon charge.

I posted on a previous post that I signed up for the fixed price deal and didn't know about the add on. Is this add on being shown on the
bill? Or have they found a sneaky way of putting to us without us knowing it right up front on the bill? I'm guessing the latter.

So I just looked at my bill and did not see anything that was specifically labeled as an additional fee or surcharge, so maybe it hasn't actually started yet. I can't find any information about a date certain when it will start. Maybe it is being held up in court challenges. If I were you I would contact ong and ask them directly about if you will be charged the fee. Bob Anthony seems to be the only CC com. who is on the side of the consumers in all this. I would contact his office to get more info and voice your concern about the surcharge if you were on the fixed rate plan. I did find some information about who made out like bandits off the price spikes. They were trying very hard to keep this information secret.

Everything is going up, OG&E wants more-an additional 10% on consumers electric bills. Natural gas has already gone up as the Kingfish mentioned. Last night on the news they said our water bill was going up in OKC. I have had a well drilled on my property and if the water bill goes up too much, I'm thinking of shutting off the city water and tapping into the well line. I guess we are all going to take certain measures to cut costs because living is too dang high.

I still have a big issue with how this recovery charge is being implemented. It sounds like everyone will see the same amount on their bill. So how is this fair? The amount of gas used by a 1000 sq. ft. house and a 5000 one would have been vastly different. It should be a graduated scale based on your averaged gas usage in previous years or sq. footage of the home. I turned my thermostat way down during the spell as they were pleading for everyone to do. If this happens again, I'll kick it up to 78 and break out the shorts and t-shirt to get my money's worth.
