Yeah Watching the video they are coming after the Sig 365. Trying to take shots a the early issues the platform had, it’s pretty evident. However, I bought the XDS 45 when it first came out. My brother did the same about 4 months later. Both had to be shipped back for a safety recall. Glass Houses, Springfield, Glass Houses.

Now that I have learned to shoot the 365, (reasonably well, anyway) despite its diminutive size, it's the trigger on the pistol that surprises me. It measures out at 5.5 lbs on my cheap scale, but it sure feels lighter than that. It's a very nice trigger for a striker fired gun especially.

That particular piece would be a pleasure to field strip.

I asked the S&W industry rep the year the Shield came out, to tell them they need to make a 4-4.25" barreled Shield that held 11+1 and an adaptable length grip that could be shortened to flush fit an 8rd mag without the collar. That would make an excellent basis for a "gamer" gun that could be carried to a match, swap for the longer, flared grip bottom to shoot the match, then switched back to CCW configuration for carry back home, especially for someone with smaller hands.

Basically the gun version of a "track-day" car.

So, why should we get one of these as opposed to, say, the Glock 26

As an owner of a G27 and a P365, there's no competition. They are night and day difference. My G27s are nightstand and underseat duty in the car, that is all. They are just too heavy, clunky and uncomfortable, too wide, etc.
