It’s not that hard. YouTube and some patience will get you something quite usable. Grip tape is better if you may sell it one day. I did this one recently. If you want one just like this I can help you.

I practiced on black poly pipe to find the tips I like, the heat settings and varying depths and styles.

It isn’t for everyone.
