If you take a cab from the airport it is pretty expensive, I would recommend a shuttle and they'll drop you off at the front door of the Hale Koa. If you have small bags that will fit on your lap (doubtful) then you can take the bus to the hotel. As far as eating, be careful. We got ill from eating elsewhere at a "steakhouse." By now you know you don't need a rental car, you can ride the bus all around the island for I believe $1.50. Don't forget the flea market at the stadium, we bought 6 T-shirts for $20.00 to use as gifts. The luaus at the Hale Koa are alright but nothing to write home about but if you don't go, your bride will talk about it for decades so take her! You can buy most of your souvenirs at the small BX at the hotel. Then there is the military museum a short walk away that is very interesting, old uniforms, guns and all sorts of military stuff and it is at no cost. You can spend 2-3 hours inside and still not see everything. The best buy on food is the Koko Cafe but there is no lunch as there used to be, all they serve is breakfast and supper. It's fairly reasonable in cost, clean and the help are courteous. Have a great trip! And you are wise by preparing in advance!
