Got hit over a week ago.
BAPD & BAFD responded and I took an amberlamps ride. driver that hit me did not stop until 1/4 mile down the road, I think only because the family that stopped, their driver went and followed the car and took a pic of te tag. Driver that hit me never came back to check on me and I was told they did not call 911 either. The passersby are the ones that called 911.
So only info I got was when trooper came to hospital and said they had xxxx for Ins carrier.
I called BAPD since they supposedly took the report but they say the info was turned over to OHP and I can't seem to get any info from anyone.
I called the insured drivers ins co but I don't know their drivers name so the won't talk to me.
iI'm close to getting an amberlamps chaser to take care of this but I was hoping the POS that ran over me would do the right thing but I guess people are shite nowdays.

any suggestion?
all I have is a pic of the back of the SUV that hit me & their tag number that the witness texted me.
oh, I also have a crash report number from OHP

From someone who works in insurance turn in the claim to your carrier and let them go to work for you that’s what you pay them for. They will take the info you have and subrogate anything they pay out upfront against the at fault parties carrier. You should also be able to get a copy of the police report which will have the other drivers information. Your carrier will definitely be able to get a copy of the report.

Hope the injuries are not permanent any your recovery is easy.
the tag number of the other person should be good enough for your agent to track them down to see if they are insured. Ok Leo should just run the numbers to see if they are insured for the most part but not always.
I was in an accident in Paris Tx last week where a guy backed into my 35’ long, 13.5 foot tall RV in a gas station.
I called 911 knowing on private property they can’t make a report but the driver couldn’t speak English so I wanted someone to be there to verify I got the right info.
Leo ran other drivers tag showed insured, and said it didn’t show our RV insured by running the tag.
We presented him with our cert that showed a bundle of all vehicles including boat and Rv. He said it happens occasionally.
That was Tx though. Get it to your insurance agent as soon as possible.
