when you shoot your gun with and without the can. is there a difference in point of impact? also between shooting a sonic round and a subsonic round?

the reason for my question is this.
I went shooting today but the only 9mm ammo I had was blazer brass.
shooting at 25 yards the gun would put 5 shots in a quarter size group right in the bullseye.
screw on the suppressor and it shot just as tight of group only 6" to the left.

do you think going with subsonic rounds will lessen this difference in point of impact.

this is not a new production state of the art suppressor.
It was a new HE suppressor I had made up 25years ago and had been sitting in the back of my safe until today.

Almost all supressors have a point of impact shift. Each can may be different on the same gun. I've heard the better suppressors have less effect. I've also always thought that how true the threads are could make a big difference.

What was the host weapon?

Marlin camp 9 carbine

I've got a couple other cans I'll try next week. Maybe one of those (old sionics types) will work better. Otherwise I guess I'll just have to learn to aim 6" to the right when the can is on.
