I had this exact thing happen to me a month ago at the loves across from Riverwind. Same guy, same kids, same suv, same fat gold ring and same story. Its obviously a scam with costume jewelry.

LOL dubai is easily one of the richest counties (per capita) in the world, should have asked to see his passport lol

There is a lot of purchasing of precious metals and jewels in those countries. When I was stationed in Pakistan back in the '60's, a couple of us took a 3 day pass and went up to Kabul, Afghanistan. The shops in the bazaars there had all kinds of stuff, including the jewels and precious metals. However, I was more interested in the swords and firearms from olden days than I was metals and jewels.

Wife has been irritated about that for years. (Well, not really irritated, just sorry I had the wrong priorities.)
