Swapping AR uppers

Quick question for the AR guys. I have a 9" AR pistol in 300 blackout. If I wanted to pin an 18" 223 wylde upper to it, do I have anything else I need to change? I wasnt sure if the buffer tube and spring would be the same or not.

Buffer tube might be the same but at the very least, you would probably need to change the buffer itself, and likely the spring.

What do you mean by that? I am looking to convert a pistol to a rifle. Not the other way around.

Buffer and spring is the same. It will work but would be tough to shoot without a stock.
