Taking a young lady shooting this weekend,,, The weather forecast for this Sunday is looking good. I work in a student computer lab at OK State University,,, I am surrounded by young people of all persuasions. One of the joys of my 14 years doing this job,,, Is when one of the students shows an interest is learning to shoot. In those past years I have introduced dozens of students to shooting,,, Several of them have kept on shooting and have even obtained their carry permit. Last week one of the 20 year old ladies expressed an interest,,, So we decided to take advantage of what might be the last nice day in a while. She's a tiny slip of a girl at 5' 2-ish and weighing not more than 100 pounds (if that),,, So I won't be taking anything too savory for her first time shooting a handgun. I figure a good selection would be these five handguns:

Colt Frontier Scout (.22 LR single action cowboy revolver)

Just so she can learn how the cowgirls did it.

S&W Model 63 (4" barrel .22 LR single/double action revolver) S&W Model 36 (3" barrel .38 Special single/double action revolver)

So she can experience the original "Point & Click" interface)

Beretta Cheetah Model 87 (.22 LR single/double action semi-auto) Beretta Cheetah Model 85BB (.380 single/double action semi-auto)

So she can experience my personal favorite semi-auto action type.

You Glock lovers can keep your comments to yourself.

She seems like a brave girl so I might take the S&W 629 out with us,,,

Just in case she wants to let her Dirty Harriet yaya's out.

For targets I have one of those plastic/rubber/polymer self healing swinging discs,,, It's 12" across and I can affix a 10" splatter target on it,,, At 15 to 25 yards that should be easy to hit. Anyways, I do hope the weather holds out,,, I've not been able to get to the range much this season. Wish us luck. Aarond .
