[QUOTE="Blitzfike, post: 2261313, member: 807"] The fact that it requires a high velocity round hitting it to detonate it pretty well rules it out as an IED tool. The opening required to hit it with the bullet makes it difficult to contain the blast wave for that purpose. Lots of things available that don't require so much effort to set them off. As to gunpowder, that is a really poor ingredient for IEDs. Black powder, OK, but smokeless??? Not so much. Besides, lots of the exploding target just gets thrown out around the perimeter of the target and isn't consumed in the explosion. We have gone to using the plastic snuff cans for our targets, makes almost as much boom as a pound and goes lots farther, not to mention being more difficult to hit and no potential shrapnel.
