[QUOTE="Timmy59, post: 3260229, member: 39982"] Butchered the 7 old laying hens for dog food and the 3 turkey's.. I've been a country boy for 45+ years and I claimed we had 2 toms and 1 hen.. The 2 said toms were about 20lbs each and the said hen about 10 pounds.. WELL, I'll be a monkey's uncle, the 2 said toms were hens ?? Really blew my mind, Prior too butcher I'd have bet $$ they were toms.. So the wife went to work on the 1st turkey while I knocked out the 7 old hens.. She say's look here and she had an egg in her hand.. Plus it was full of yolks of various sizes.. I dressed the 2nd and I too pulled a shelled egg plus the same yolk story.. To think I thought I knew what we had.. They sure behaved like toms and were so much bigger.. Eggs were fertile too so I'll have to assume the little pain in the tail was the tom ?
