I was in Ada last week and stumbled across an awesome little gun shop called The Odd Duck.

I walked inside and the very first thing I noticed was that the owners of the shop were a pair of twins that I went to school with back in the day! :ooh2:

Robert and Ronnie Walkup are the owners of The Odd Duck gun store, located right next door to the Folgers Café. For those of you that don't know where Folgers is, it is on the north side of Main street, about a block or two off of Mississippi. The brothers specialize in vintage Smith & Wesson revolvers and Winchester lever action rifles.

When I say vintage, I'm talking VINTAGE! Mostly N frames...38-44 Outdoorsmans, pre model 27s, 5 screw hand ejectors, wow! I was blown away. I truly felt like a child in wide wonder during the Christmas season when I started handling these blue steel beauties. I think the "newest" revolver I saw was a 4 inch model 686 or maybe a 3 inch model 629 that were both dated probably in the mid 1980s. They also had a few Colt Pythons, some Browning Hi Powers, Ruger Vaqueros and even a P&R K frame or two. But yeah, blue steel N frames ruled at this place.

Anyways...I had a great time visiting with my old buddies that I haven't seen in years and I got to handle some awesome pieces of iron and wood that were handcrafted back in the day one at a time by a little old man wearing a leather apron at his work bench, just like God intended.

I would have loved to have been around in that era.

If you get a chance, stop in their shop for no other reason just to see, feel and smell the nostalgia their collection offers. And when you do, tell them that Evan Lee from Moss, America sent you. :thumb:

No, I don't.

I figure they are probably Monday - Saturday maybe 10-5 or something? I know I was in there around 5pm or so and they didn't rush me out the door. In fact, I probably spent a good 45 minutes in there. I just could not make myself leave!

Get ready to spend a lot of time in there if you love S&W wheelies the way that I do.

I felt like I needed to smoke a cigarette when I left.
