What road does he live on? We were north of Kenosha on 232 e ave until 2002 when we sold.

There are strip mines all through that area. Kenosha is 71st south. We use to ride dirt bikes through the stripped mines terrain between 51st and 61st st south, directly north of TSC.

Safety and environmental are my profession, so I looked up the report on the radiation survey of the area. In a small part of the area, they found 130 micro REM/hr of radiation at the surface. That's a miniscule dosage. It's about four times normal background radiation. It's unlikely, even living directly on top of the site for many years, that an average person would see any adverse effects. Radon is another story, I am not very familiar with it.

It was all the rage in the mid 80s. Fly-by-night companies popping up and selling little "radon cans" to catch the radioactive fumes before they rose into the house.

Then, just as suddenly, the threat was gone. Sort of like the prediction we were going to be in another ice age by 1980. (That was because of air pollution.) It wasn't "maybe." It was definitely. But the 80s came and went and no ice age. And no more calamity. And the Lame-Stream-Media didn't say a word about the false alarm.

Life is funny like that.

I heard a report that the city council was made aware of this by the EPA as far back as 2017. If this is correct and they continued to allow development in that area, the city may be in for a world of hurt. A woman who was interviewed on the news that was a resident in that area back then recalled how she saw two men out walking in the area with geiger counters. She walked up to them and asked what they were doing. They said they were checking for radiation, but she didn't elaborate any further like asking why the hell are you looking for radiation near my neighborhood.
