Well a huge THANK YOU to all of the organizers, ROs and people behind the scenes! What a fantastic, safe and wonderful event. The amount of work that must have gone into it is staggering and my hat's off to all of you. Huge congrats to everyone who ran, walked, crawled. This was my first event of this type and I hope it won't be the last. It was refreshing to see so many excellent folk out there in the brush. Tell you what: I learned a lot. I had read about "weak pin strikes" before, and thought of it as something that never really happens. Thousands of rounds and I've never had the experience of a soft strike. Come the 13th, and Lord Almighty that is what I got. Lovely. Weak strike and stuck round. Good chance to spend some quality time mortaring and whining. Good times. Thinking back on it: did I move to a defensive position on FTF/FTE? Nope; just cursed and blinked. Did I execute the right corrective actions? Sure, but maybe I could be smoother and quieter. Am I going over my whole system with a fine-toothed comb? You betcha. All in all, a GREAT shake-down cruise of equipment and mind. A learning experience, and I am grateful for all of the good advice and camaraderie. Man, I want to do it again!
