Regardless of age these Environmentalists are wack jobs that are clueless. Just say that we could wave a magic wand and tomorrow ALL vehicles on the highways became electric that would become a disaster. We do not have enough Power Plants or Grid capability to provide power for charging this many vehicles at once. Some parts of the country already experience rolling blackouts due to an overloaded Power Grid. Now, diesel-electric on the other hand makes sense to reduce the the amount of carbon emissions. Scaled down version of the trains in cars and trucks. Unfortunately can't get something for nothing in physics so unless we go back to horses and covered wagons we have to deal with results of using petroleum products for power production in vehicles.
