What caliber is this?
It's for the Ruger American. Not specific for cal. Spoke with Tech support at Timney (nice guy) and he said the performance of the trigger, for the 6.5, would be perfect.sear
Learning curve question. Why would the timney trigger perform any different for the 6.5 than lets say the 308 or 223?
I'm not being a smart a%s, I'm just not as familiar, as many of you guys here, on trigger specs.
The research I did on the 641C (made for the short action American) had lots of reviews of it's install in the 6.5 predator.
It was also the suggestions from many here that gave me the confidence to go with Timney.
I'd appreciate and input on the trigger to Cal. Just another thing that interest me and I know nothing about.
You and couple of others brought this up and I'm dumb as a brick on that. I also like to learn so please (and anyone else) comment.
Thanks.

It won't change. I was just messing with you cause I was proud of the lack of caliber being mentioned when this rifle comes up.
I'm a fan of timney. I have 2 AR's with them installed and have discount codes so I need to order 2 more for my Savages.

Wasn't able to make the ENS today because the wife is sick and I felt bad leaving her. I didn't feel bad enough not to run to the range, near by, and try out my new trigger on paper. Only gone about 30 minutes and only shot two groups of 4 each.
Will post a range pic and report in a sec.

Part two. Pic 9 remove rear pin. Pic ten remove trigger. Remove blot lock clip, spring, safety bar from old trigger. Push in bolt lock from left side of trigger to get clip off. Note which hole the spring goes on housing. Pic eleven is bolt lock clip from old trigger installed in new trigger. Twelve is install of bolt lock spring and safety bar installed from left side. Note that safety button in in the correct position with the eye hole pointed forward. Thirteen is trigger dropped in attached to safety button and pins tapped in. Fourteen is the finished product. 3 lb pull that is perfect. Damn this is a great trigger.

Nope. Picked it up today and put it in when I got home after work.
I realized how gritty my factory ruger trigger was when I pulled the timney. It's like day and night. You were right about the 3 lb pull. I dry fired it a few time and man it breaks great. Trigger creep and over travel is perfect.
I doubt I will touch it for a while or maybe ever..
Smooth as glass.
Posted the pics because there's no vids on youtube or at timneys on install. Talked to customer service at Timney (nice people) and they are about to post a few of the 641C and a few of the other new T triggers.
I though this might get some interest but in hindsight, it's a very limited group that 1. Shoot 6.5 creedmoor and 2. Need a 641C trigger tutorial. Ha.
But it's here if anyone needs it, and I have other pics as well.
Just got a notice my Odin Atlas 6.5 comp is in San Diego, coming from Bonita CA (hour and a half North but half an hour west or wrong direction). Should be in by Monday. Was going to post the install but probably not enough interest in the Cal. If someone wants to see it, I'll post that I have pics and if they want, I I'll pm them or email.

Plan on range tomorrow to test out the trigger. Maybe after work. I'll pm ya and tell you the results.

I am trying to install this trigger in my Ruger American Rifle (Predator version). I have removed the original trigger successfully, without losing any parts. However, when I try to push the bolt lock pin into its hole (as the first step for reassembly), it is far too tight for me to get in with finger pressure?

I do notice that the shaft of the pin has a flat and also a hollow that probably perform the safety functions. They might also need to be in the right orientation for reassembly, but I haven't found any magic angle.

What am I missing here? Do I just need a bigger hammer?

Part of my problem is that the holes for the bolt lock pins are different for my rifle and for the Timney trigger. These differences are slight, but it means that the OEM pin is also slightly asymmetrical and does not fit in the Timney hole. It sounds to me like both Ruger and Timney have used two (or, God help us) more variants of the pin/hole design, but the products are not labeled to reflect this in any way. Nor is this reflected in any of the instructions. Right now I'm literally trying to fit an irregular peg into a round hole.
