Your call. I sincerely hope that none of your loved ones become victims.

Naw, they won't. If they die, it won't be because of me. Never in the history of the world has my breathing and exhaling of air killed anyone and it won't now. If the simple breathing and exhaling of air kills people, stay in your house and protect yourself. I refuse to be a slave to anyone's unfounded fears.

So just out of curiosity, how do you explain the data that shows the infection rates higher in areas that people don't wear masks, than the rates in areas where people do use masks ? Like South Korea, Japan, Taiwan or other places like that. Even in the US there are cases where this happens much more locally.

Mandate ? hahahahaha

That carries absolutely no legal weight. The governors will still decide and even then they really don't have much clout either. I'm a supporter of wearing masks, but I'm not a supporter of Biden "mandating" anything !
. Nor am I.

Actually that's not correct. The virus does not live forever on any surfaces. They can be reused or if a cloth mask they can be laundered.
Texas doctor, 28, dies of Covid: 'She wore the same mask ...for weeks if not months...
It's up to each one of us as to what we do fro protection, we do have that freedom, but not much is known about Covid yet although new theories come up nearly every day. It is maddening all these experts and they are often on conflict with each other.

It really isn't that much higher though. The data the Agency I work for shares only shows 3 more positives per 100,000 for those not wearing a mask.

Well, I do not ever wear the same mask all day, every day for weeks or months. I let them sit for 4 or 5 days between wearings. I only need to wear a mask for fairly short periods on any one day. I pretty much only wear them to go to the grocery store or the shooting range. I don't go anywhere else where there are other people except on rare occasions, and I will wear a mask every time I do.

There is a peer review that blasts the KU study for using deceptive models to sew the comparison. By using a 7 day rolling average, it concealed the huge growth of cases in the mask mandate counties compared to no mask mandate counties. There are other flaws identified as well.

I still wear a mask in crowded places though...just like I carry a gun.

“Sentinel’s review of the data shows just the opposite”

So an online news/policy organization does peer reviews?

Well that is certainly not consistent with most of the data I have seen.

But if there is any chance at all of it being better with a mask, why not just do it since it is the most conservative position and certainly probably won't hurt you. Why be so obstinate about such a minor thing and avoid the issue ?

From what data has been shared in the various meetings I've been in, the positives who wore a mask were at like 24/100k vs positives who didn't wear a mask being at 27/100k . . .

Here is the latest data from the OSDH weekly report. A new report should be out tomorrow.

Wifey has to wear one at work but only when in close proximity to another co worker. She said she has forgotten her mask many times when she went o another floor and someone's office to talk. She has also said the person at the desk she talks to doesn't always wear a mask and several times she has out of habit picked up the mask of other people from their desks by mistake. She has come up with a mask chain with two clips for her neck that holds her mask like a pair of glasses. Now she knows where her mask is all the time when she isn't wearing it.
