To mask, or not to mask, THAT, is the question

So, it's gone from masking being substantially better....to no mask being better ?

If that's what that data says, I'm not buying it !

I read it just the opposite except I wouldn’t use the word “substantially”. There is a bunch of non-compliance and crappy masks in areas where mandates exist. I think the numbers are really almost meaningless.

“Sentinel’s review of the data shows just the opposite”

So an online news/policy organization does peer reviews?

Good point “peer review” is not accurate, but the assessment is still valid and requires more analysis.

Yes sir, you are correct and I read it wrong. I agree with your conclusions and I'm going to delete my prior post because I don't want people to not look at the data and read my post for the wrong conclusions.

Thank you for correcting me.

Mask mandates don't work because people don't comply and wear one or wear them properly. You should not wear the same mask all day but most can't afford disposable masks or have training on how to wear a mask. Actually, from what I observed in public few follow of the recommendations such as hand washing, sanitizing items you touch and social distancing. I think Oklahoman's have covid19 fatigue and are tired of all the bs, so they just give up and don't care anymore.

Most of us remember the same arguments when seat beasts were introduced.

And the arguments then were valid.

If you're going to go down the well-worn road of "it costs everyone...."

You could use the same socialist-inspired argument for banning obesity, limiting high-calorie foods, outlawing tobacco, etc.....

I really don't understand the sceince behind the mask thing... They don't specify what masks... On all these mask boxes they tell you they don't prevent respritory infection and even COVID... It just reeks of desperation... Like throwing a hail-mary pass that's likely to get intercepted or not caught at all.

It doesn't help that politicians have been caught advocating masks and then taking them off once cameras stop rolling or outright saying masks are political theater. Which then begs the question, is this just a test to see how much control they can get out of us if people are scared?

With that said, I'll comply where I need to... My new mask should be arriving today. You'll know it's me because it has a herd of sheep on the front.

Don't forget the "made in china" label on it. Wearing a mask made by the same sobs that gave us this china flu seems kinda crazy to me.

Well Biden is going to fix that because he is going to invoke the Defense Production Act and force Charmin and Scott's to make billions and billions of masks. You won't be able to get toilet paper again but that won't be a problem.

You do realize that we are getting pretty much all the same stuff from China today that we were before the Chinese virus don't you ?

They do specify masks. Double quilted fabric. It's on the website.

Still,

musical-masks_Wisley_01_1350.jpg

At Middle Tennessee State University, for example, tuba teacher Chris Combest said his students tie pillowcases over the bells of their instruments, and some wear masks that can be unbuttoned to play. At the University of Iowa, wind players in small ensembles must use bell covers and masks, but they can pull them down when playing as long as they pull them up during rests. Heather Ainsworth-Dobbins said her students at Southern Virginia University use surgical masks with slits cut in them and bell covers made of pantyhose and MERV-13 air filters, similar to what is used on a furnace.

Here is another example:

“This is the three layer mask. I open the flap right here to put my mouth piece in. I put it on my ears like any other mask and I make sure it is secure. And once I do that, I open up the flap, insert the mouthpiece, and I play and there is no exposure.”

No exposure! Bulltwinkies!

Idiots gonna idiot.
