Rented the theater for private showing, less jerks to deal with. Invited family and some friends. Really liked it, saw many places from my youth and Navy times. Predictable based on trailers. See it again? YES!

My wife doesn't care to go to movies, so every few years one comes up that I go see by myself. Went to this one. Liked it and would see it again. However, wouldn't the modern military just use missiles to do what the jets did in this one? Is is possible to eject at 10gs? I loved the flying scenes.
Meh. It was ok. Think it was way over hyped. A lot of forced scenes that could have been left out like the sailing scenes and the chic flick parts. It seemed more of a top gun remake than a sequel. Not sure how the squid ranking system is, but noticed when Tom was calling goose' kid he yelled out Lt. Bradley or whatever and he had captain bars on his shoulders. Would've liked to have seen more dog fighting and .mil tomfoolery, but that's just me. At least it wasn't too bad of a hit since we went to the matinee so it only cost $9.
A Navy Lieutenant is the equivalent of an Army Captain (O3).
