Top Gun Maverick was so good, I only recognize the other movie as a flashback.

It’s good if you don’t realize the whole plot is really stupid. A b2 bomber or missiles would have been used. That doesn’t make for a good story though.

You also have to overlook the fact that the raid would have started world war 3. I read an interesting fan theory that Maverick died when when the spy plane crashed at the beginning, and the rest is his dying hallucinations. Makes a lot of sense.

We've seen it twice now, the first time at the theater on Imax then again at home on Paramount. I like both the original (that I've lost count on how many times I've watched) and the new Top Gun while my wife prefers the new film over the older one.

Oh I have seen the original so many times, I have lost count. now seen the sequel at least 15 times since last summer.

Is the second better than the original? Negative ghost rider, pattern is full. However Jennifer Conelly wins hands down over Kelly McGillis in a land slide.
