New program to introduce rainbow trout to Broken Arrow’s Events Park Pond

Approximately 292 trout will be stocked in the Events Park Pond every two weeks until the end of the season.

That’s what I was reading. Sounds like a lightweight rod/reel with 4# test line and #14-16 treble hook are a good place to start.

Yep I just use power bait. My son uses one color and I pick another to see which one they like that day LOL.

We went on Sunday evening. He got a couple strikes but was too busy exploring and missed them.

@kroberts2131 what other fish species are you all catching out of that pond? I didn’t realize that it was stocked with fish.

I personally think that pond is overfished other than right now. My son is only 6 so he doesn’t care what he catches but it’s almost always just tiny panfish and bass. I’ve never caught anything of significance in it. It’s a good area to take kids though.

@HiredHand have you made over that way yet? My son and I have been several times with no luck yet. We drive by it often, especially on weekends, and it’s always packed. I think if you don’t go when they stock it, you are SOL

I went once when it was windy and a bit chilly, and didn’t have any luck. I didn’t see anyone else catching anything either. You might be right about being there when they stock it.
