I have been thinking I want to dip my feet into the nfa world and that a can would be a good start. The more I think about it the more I'm not sure about it. 95% of my shooting is indoor ranges so is there any benefits for shooting a can indoors besides the cool factor?

Only if no one else is on the range shooting unsuppressed. Unless its a can for an SBR used for Home Defense, getting one for HD isn't worth it.

FWIW, shooting indoors sucks compared to shooting outside in God's glory. That's where a can will truly shine. I use mine all the time in the back yard and only one neighbor is the wiser. (they want to come out and shoot it too) :)

I've rarely shot indoors, but if I did, I'd hug the person with a can vs one with a brake.

I don't have one yet, but after shooting at the outdoor range around a guy that had one on his Nemo .300 win mag, and doing some serious long range in NM, with a wildcat, I'm sold.

I got one in 30 caliber about a year ago. I mainly got it for hunting so I didn't have to wear ear protection. At the range I have used it very little maybe 15% of the time. I do like having it and glad I do have it, but don't use it as much as some.

The out door shooting I do is at banner, I was thinking of getting a .22 can and using my 10/22 and 22/45 as hosts.

Sadly I live smack dab in okc so I can't shoot in my backyard.

That's probably the best first can and host setups on the market. I use my .22 cans far more than my pistol or centerfire rifle cans.

I'm just the opposite. Since getting my rifle can I haven't shot unsuppressed at all with the exception of pistols. However, I am ready to put in the paperwork for a pistol can now ha.

My 22 can should be out of jail soon barrels on the buckmark and 10-22 are threaded just need to pick it up.

Can't wait I see my meager stash of 22 disappearing fast

Do you REALLY need a reason other than "because I can"?
