What I find amusing about this is that I took a very similar class in the 9th grade, in SoCal. In 1969. I did none of the homework, and still aced all the tests. It was the only class I passed that year. Mom and step-Mom both got pregnant by my dad about 6 years apart, and married him. Both made sure I, and my brother(s) & sisters knew what caused that, and how to avoid it in most cases. FYI, the Catholic Encyclopedia has a very good section of human reproduction. Though one of my 1/2-sisters discovered for herself that the rhythm method doesn't always work. And in her later years, when I was a senior in high school, Mom found that she'd forgotten something. Only "system" that actually works is abstinence. Though there are two systems that are close... Orange Juice, and Aspirin. Orange juice is instead of having sex. For the Aspirin method, you place one tablet between your legs, and keep it there! Not always reliable, either, and close only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades, and atomic weapons. Might also explain why I felt I had to leave Cali in 1973...
