Nice bird. Saw two hens today, but that's it. No beards. I did have an interesting visitor though. While on a sit I had a young (1 1/2?) deer walk to within about 6 feet of me. It finally winded me but couldn't see me so it trotted off. It got more excited about seeing my turkey decoy than me.
Cool stuff right there. Can't see it from the couch. Being that close to nature is mostly why I hunt.

Struck out this season. Had them gobbling just after first light, but every time I made a move on a bird, they'd already moved off the property. By 10am, they went silent so I grabbed my fly rod and hit a pond. Caught a really nice largemouth on a top water grasshopper style fly. It's my second ever fish on the fly and the fight was awesome on a 5wt.

Made a late run at them this week. Took a mutt-eastern here Saturday morning, great hunt, done at 0650. Drove up to Poncaland and put down a Rio on Sunday morning. Then went west and harvested a Merriams Tuesday morning.

Bustin' birds in my hood?? LOL. Congrats on the triple. Quite the accomplishment!
Just drove through the panhandle yesterday and saw some merriams between Guymon and Boise city.
