Lol. Yea don’t be toting a rifle around here for spring turkey. You can in Texas though and I have shot many down there with a rifle when I was younger. It’s fun but you definitely gotta be careful how you shoot them or you will destroy the breast!
My son and his gf and another couple were up at the lease shooting. As they were driving out, he saw a Tom and his harem. He jumped out and cruised up a draw. Said he got within 15 yards before letting the bird have it. Not hunting in the traditional way but a bird is a bird.

I dunno stalking and shooting any animal seems like real hunting to me.
You don’t have to ambush them with a decoy to make it real hunting. IMO

I went this evening and didn’t see anything. Watched a nice Tom walk-in the tree line yesterday evening and thought I might get a chance at him, but it was a dry run.
