I just purchased a Ugartechea model 30 double barrel side by side 12 gauge shotgun. I know very little about these Spanish double barrels. I know they can get a bit pricy. Can anyone tell me anything about them including approximate value. This gun has a straight English style stock which appears to be nicely checkered as is the forearm. The receiver is case hardened and overall appears to be in very nice, although maybe not perfect, condition. It does have 18.5" barrels which kind of stumps me because I can't find any info that shows a barrel length like this on this brand.

You don’t see many of those! Upland Classic Grade I Model 30 is the full name, I believe. I think only one outfit imported them - Lion Country. It has an Anson & Deeley boxlock action, and is probably the most common model offered by Ugartechea. The ones I’ve seen all had 28” or 30” barrels, so my guess is either yours is a custom order, or more likely, someone cut down the barrels for HD or for cowboy action shooting. Prices are ALL over the place, but a nice, unmolested one should run around $750-1000.

Always amazed by todds knowledge. That is a pretty gun you have there.

Actually, I didn’t know squat about Ugartechea until a couple months ago, when I decided to look for a SxS for CAS, and I ran across a Model 30. Unfortunately, it still had 28” barrels, and at the asking price, it would have been a shame to cut down the barrels, so I passed.

If it had been the OP’s example, I would have bought it ;)
