Umc Remington M1 ammo

Can anyone give me some information on this round friend gave me an m1 clip with these in it. Bronze top it looks like. From his father in law who was a D Day he thinks

Commercial hunting ammo stuck in a Garand clip. Military ammo is not marked like that.

Good to know thanks. He did give me a can of black tip a couple years back he just found this we didn't know anything about it thanks

looks like the new bullets they were using, or maybe still are using. i've had both 5.56 and 7.62 with that type tipped bullet in them

Check the clip markings on the bottom, some are worth some $$

Skimmed thru the comments and noticed the posters were mixing references to commercial and military bullets
Bronze tips were hunting ammo (against Geneva convention for military use) and Gold paint tipped military trial bullets.
