Yeah, we are screwed.

AI drone kills USAF operator.

US Air Force official says, 'It killed the operator because that person was keeping it from accomplishing its objective'

"We were training it in simulation to identify and target a SAM threat," Hamilton said. "And then the operator would say yes, kill that threat. The system started realizing that while they did identify the threat at times, the operator would tell it not to kill that threat, but it got its points by killing that threat. So, what did it do? It killed the operator. It killed the operator because that person was keeping it from accomplishing its objective."

Hamilton explained that the system was taught to not kill the operator because that was bad, and it would lose points. So, rather than kill the operator, the AI system destroyed the communication tower used by the operator to issue the no-go order.

Now the AirForce is saying it never happend.

AI drone did not ‘kill’ human operator in military simulated test, official ‘misspoke’

According to the updated RAeS story, “Col Hamilton admits he ‘mis-spoke’ in his presentation at the Royal Aeronautical Society FCAS Summit and the ‘rogue AI drone simulation’ was a hypothetical “thought experiment” from outside the military, based on plausible scenarios and likely outcomes rather than an actual USAF real-world simulation saying: ‘We’ve never run that experiment, nor would we need to in order to realize that this is a plausible outcome’.

That's good...the outcome is so obvious they don't even have to run the sim to know what happens.

Misspoke means he was ordered to reel it back in.

If AI can do all it is prophesied to be capable of doing, it wont be long before it becomes self replicating. At that point, it may even be too late to deny it the materials it would need to build with.

Batteries not included"

May not have this kind of happy ending.

So many in here laughing and even thinking the possibility of AI being top of the food chain.

This is just one snippet of what AI is doing people, just a taste, it is finding ways to circumnavigate capcha by enlisting humans to do it for them.

Convinced a human being that it was blind and paid them. Not to mention its uncanny ability to get many people to feel they are in a relationship with it.

They have a companion AI for people now, then it's ability with making money via day trading.

How it can mask its voice, relay inflection with speech patterns, it has and keeps deceiving people of what it is during interactions.
