Yeap. Had a office lady a few years back tell me that. I told her “doesn’t matter, you can’t see anything due to privacy controls, I keep my online info locked down tight”. She told me that it didn’t matter. If a company has enough influence and money, they can get whatever info they want off of a social media site.

They had a story on channel 6 Tulsa, few days ago about ewmpoliers using potential employees social media post to check people's back ground, and charicter! It's a good thing I don't need a job, if this would be used, no one but a die hard Trump Supporter, and conservative, would hire me! This sounds a little off to me, I can see how hiring someone to work with kids, should be checked out by any means available. They arrested some guy working at the Tulsa Boys Home lately, that had thousands of child porn, photos and videos, in his possession, according to the news. We hear about these CREEPS working at schools, and anything that gives them access to kids. I think this using social media would be justified in this case, but I'm not sure about other type jobs? What do you think?

basically why it's best to freak out here because you can't say things anywhere else. but no doubt, there are many places that would likely fire users of this forum if they knew we used it, etc.

Yep. It was amazing what I could find out about you -- like someone said right down to your shoe and underwear sizes. No one is safe ANYWHERE. "They" can find ANYTHING ... If I was younger there is NO WAY I'd have any kind of social media account.

For example, I have a hard fast rule of no pictures. Have been that way my entire life, yet there is a young man here who several years ago took video of me at a Happy Birthday party some of us had at Montana Mike's. I had no idea that video was out there, yet a man on another forum found that video and sent me the link asking if that was me.

Like I said -- if it's there, "they" will find it.

Facebook is a data mining program anyway. They have sold info since there start. They sell your
info to advertisers, and everybody else. I dont have any of those programs on my phone or
any other device. My wife does, so they probably listen to me in the back ground, lol
Oh yeah and the chinese own tik tok, and who know what else

Ummm, you're here. This is social media, too. I don't have FB, Twits, or TikTok, but have no illusion that I'm "safe" from data sniffers. I just don't care any more.

In New York you may not have to prove you need a gun anymore, but you do need to provide your social media data.
