USPSA Oil Capital Oct 10 Sunday

It's the 2nd Sunday; time for USPSA at Oil Capital! October 10th is the date. Sign-in begins at 9:30, walk-thru at 10 AM. Figure on 125-150 rounds, in 6 stages. One stage a Classifier. Match fee is $15 ($10 to OCR&GC members). Cold bulk water available and cover overhead on every bay as usual.

Some new things at Oil Capital. Pistol Bays Left & Right have had earth added, such that we can shoot in a full 180 degree arc on both of them. I'll bet we'll have some stages to investigate these possibilities. We're instituting a "War Wagon" prop issue/storage system with this match.

Thanks to all for making it out to Oil Capital's October USPSA match. The results are out via BCC email to the competitors; PM me if yours did not arrive.

The six stages totaled 165 rounds, so plenty of trigger time. The first squad finished about 2 PM; lots of trigger time available in a compact time window. The Classifier was stage 2, Lazyman Standards CM99-59. First place overall match honors went to Eric F., with he and Robert C. trading stage wins back and forth.

There were some non-threats out there today; about as many as usual. Not a problem unless you didn't remember to put the knob on the end of the gun on a specific point on the target that you planned to shoot. Pick a spot (i.e. 5th shirt button, LH pocket, whatever) for that target partly obscured by a NT, place the shot there and go on.

The war wagon system was in use today, as promised. It cut materials delivery time to stages about in half. When it was time to put away, it cut that time well more than half. The competitors like it! We continue fine tuneing it and its use. Within the next six months we'll build a refined version of it, based upon what we learn and suggestions from the shooters.
