[QUOTE="Tanis143, post: 3269471, member: 43724"] You think I've not tried? I am SLOWLY lowering my nicotine level, but before vaping I tried quitting multiple times. I tried patches, gum and lozenges. But I was addicted to nicotine long before I started smoking. After spending my first 12 years with two smokers (almost 4 packs a day between the two of them) then just 7 years with one 2 pack a day smoker I left for college. Soon after I developed severe mood swings with anger being more frequent. I had problems concentrating, so much in fact that classed I used to have no problems with were now a struggle. After 3 semesters I ended up smoking after realizing that when I did a few times at parties I started to feel "normal" for a short time. After 1.5 years of being away from constant cigarette smoke the symptoms never went away. Fast forward to around 2008. This was my first attempt to quit with patches. Step 1 was ok, step 2 I started to feel antsy and was easily irritated. When I got to step 3 I was starting to get unbearable and at times my wife would almost tell me to have a cigarette. I ended up buying a pack because I hated the way I felt. Hid it from my wife even though I found out she knew I was sneaking outside to smoke.
