VFG on pistol?

There was a thread that discussed the option of an 07FFL/02SOT holder being able to mount a VFG on a pistol for a $5 transfer fee (and surcharge for service). Does that hold true, and if so, is there anyone in Tulsa area that can do this?

the gun has to be built as a AOW=any other weapon and registered as such with the BATFE.
A lot of headache and hassle for just a foregrip. the only thing cheap about the process is the $5 transfer.
figure you will be out several hundred$ before your done.

What kind of gun are you wanting to do it on?

S&W M&P15-22P. It has a short forend with rails. I would have never guessed it would cost that much though.

Don't take my word for it on such an important matter but I have heard the ATF allows the Magpul AFG on pistol uppers. Please do the proper research before you do it.
