does anyone use them in areas where you don’t have cell coverage?
If so, which brand and model are you using.

I have a pair of these https://beartooth.com/
(Sorry, on mobile) and they work pretty well. Has ability to download maps of your area, text and talk. They pair with your cell via Bluetooth. May not be exactly what you’re looking for but just thought I’d share.
