    Warning to all classifieds users!!

There has been a scammer active here at OSA. This person is also active at various other forums and online media.

The scammer has operated under at least two names here:
    “MrSurplus90”
    “caliberluke1911”

Verify reality of item and seller before sending funds!

    Some rules to help identify:

Demand to meet in person, or at minimum, see video of specific details on live call if possible. Scammers will not want to meet you in person. Most scammers don’t possess the item in question.

Do not send funds via sources that cannot be traced, tracked, or reversed. Require funds be sent via money orders or some sort of credit card transfer (standard PayPal or such). Do not use PayPal “gift” as this cannot be contested.

Know what you’re buying. “Too good to be true” is a thing. If you have a question, search for images and see if it’s been posted elsewhere.

I hate to say it, but BE CYNICAL!!

Well said. Buyer beware! We know of two established members (so far) here on OSA who fell prey to this criminal in the last few days before we became aware of his thieving ways and banned him and deleted his posts. Please be careful when buying an item from the classifieds. Deal with those who you can trust. Check the sellers feedback! An established track record of good transactions here on OSA is a good sign, an established identity is another. Just be careful.

Another buyer beware and heads up. Be very leery of purchasing from out of state users. If possible, ask for a detailed pic of some obscure part of the firearm that they would only be able to produce if they actually have the firearm on hand.
