The idea is: A Remington 7615, converted to .338 Spectre. Reliability of a pump (extremely important relative to a semi-auto, for a suppressed & oddball round like the spectre subsonic loads), yet extreme speed and ability to stay on target, like a semi-auto. SBR'ed (at about 11-12") & Suppressed -- of course. I *AM* building a suppressed SBR'ed & SBR'ed .338 spectre. I WAS previously 100% set on a turnbolt, based probably on a Savage 10. But now I'm 95% set on a turnbolt, and 5% just messin with this crazy 7615 idea. Big problem is gonna be finding someone to make a barrel that fits this rifle in this caliber (or maybe not). Hey, while we're brainstorming, even crazier idea - what about a Browning BLR lightweight (box mag gun), in .338 Spectre, SBR'ed & Suppressed? Or for that matter, a Savage 99?
