I've been thinking about a Rock River AR in 6.8spc. Several people have told me that the 6.8spc is 1/2 way between the 223 and the 308... I've looked at the numbers and it looks to me like 6.8spc is only about 1/3 of the way up from the 223 towards the power of the 308.... another words no where near half way between the two. And compared to the 7.62x39 it looks to be only a slight improvement over that round? So it looks to me that the only advantages of a 6.8spc is that it can be had in an AR platform which is better for accuracy and it IS a little bit of an improvement over the 223 without adding the kind of weight you would get with the 308 in an AR platform like the AR10 and other AR type 308s. Ammo is much more expensive than 223... costs allmost as much as the 308s. That is at least at the place i found ammo for the 6.8 Opinions on this would be greatly appreciated. What do you think the advantages/disadvantages are of buying an AR in 6.8spc? mike gn
