Yes, you will never pass a law that prevents evil people from doing evil things. These people follow no law and will carry out evil one way or another. If they can't get a gun legally, I don't think they would be opposed to getting one illegally instead. It is the vigilance of others and alertness/ preparedness that can thwart people's plans to do harm to others, and being able to defend yourself is part of that.

In the "minds(?)" of all lib dems, they think they can. Of course, they(all lib dems) will be exempted from or be non-prosecutable under all such laws that they pass(just like they are exempt from all gun control laaws).

Can gang violence be considered antisocial? Many people die as a result of gang violence. If a person is in a gang, is that person antisocial? While I am sure antisocial behavior might be significant in some cases, I believe jealousy, greed, revenge, devotion to a faith, winning at any cost and even politics can be just as significant. If a person has no conscience or moral compass, the 'excuses' to engage in violence are many.

The best thing you can do in your defense is be aware and be prepared. No one can prevent a determined, and clever perpetrator of violence from engaging. All one can do is stop the violence once it begins. Paddock apparently was stopped by the mere knowledge he had been discovered. He was clever enough to avoid discovery before he brought his evil plan to light.

Even living in a police state will not prevent this sort of evil. The evil is simply played out by the state.

Look at your rights and freedoms as what would be required to survive and be free as if there were no government. Governments come and go, but your rights live on. If you wish to survive government, you must protect with jealous resolve all the powers that come with your rights - especially with the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. Without the power of those arms, you will perish with that government - or at its hand. B.E. Wood

What I have always thought is that past behavior is the best indication of future behavior. It is rare for someone who is an easy-going person to become a violent person out of the blue. Short of a major outside occurrence, such as an extreme provocation, if you are of a generally mild temperament, that is how you will remain. On the other hand, a person with a genuinely nasty personality, will be the type the law-enforcement people will be involved with.

An example might be family homicide. Generally the police will have been called to the same couple numerous times in the past to deal with DV and the pattern is that the violence tends to escalate over time. The final event is spousal homicide. OTOH, couples who get on well with each other rarely receive police attention and they almost never murder each other.

Look at their past behavior to predict future patterns.
