Yeah, different distribution areas. The stars were always printed in a dark color, that is why we saw them inside and outside of the "P". In the 70's, it was fun to conjecture what they stood for because no one had the interwebs. I also bought the magazine for the articles.This one I actually know!!!!
The stars, up to six I think, were used to differentiate the different markets in the country.
