What is the symbol that appears next to "Replies" on my Wednesday (Aug 8) WTB S&W grips post?

What symbol? All I see is this (ignore the dark color scheme; I checked it in the regular one as well):

I don't think you're referring to the colon.

Does it look like a comic book dialog bubble? Just means the thread is open for replies.
If it's a lock symbol, it is closed for replies.
For some reason, I think the OP is the only one that sees the bubble

I didn't see either on the test thread I created.

If it's the colon, this thread is the most damning indictment of the American education system ever. :D
