What kind of critter hole is this?

I have been trying to clear out a fence line and underneath a brush pile was this hole. I cleared it out this winter and filled the hole in but it looks like whatever was in it is back. Any ideas what this thing would be based off of the hole?
Remember, I am in north -central Nebraska, and that's a size 14 shoe for reference.

There was a pretty good size mound around it when I uncovered the brush pile. I used the mound to fill in the hole as much as I could and level the ground out

Badger, Rabbit, Prairie dog...I'd put a camera on it.

I am surrounded by corn and soybean fields. The lot that is on which is next door has been abandoned for 50 years and has your typical tree growth and that kind of junk. Right across the street there is a strip of prairie grass it is about a half mile long by 100 yards behind the property is another 50 acres or so that is not farmed and prairie type land.

It’s a dagburned gopher! Do you know what those will do to a golf course?

Good rains after filling hole? It may have settled and opened up an abandoned burrow.
