What knife for a gift?

If you needed a knife this weekend for a gift what would you buy? Main use would be for deer.

I would’ve suggested a Mike Miller or McCrosky, but it’s kind of short notice.

McCrosky would be my first choice but you have to wait for those to be made. Second choice would be a Benchmade Skinner (or a hidden canyon hunter) from H&H. They have a very good selection of knives in stock.

Lionsteel b40. Excellent edge retention. Simple design. Big enough for any chores but small enough to get your finger up on the tip for control.

IIRC, Spyderco and Benchmade both make fixed blade knives for processing meat, and you might be able to find them locally.

If I was going to gift someone a fixed blade I’d go with an ESEE 3 or 4 (low to moderate end) or a Winkler, something like their Blue Ridge Hunter(pretty high end)…those are just my two favorites right now. For primarily deer I’m not sure but I know either will work for that.
