What the heck is this?

    My dad bought a house in Kellyville a few years ago and recently dug up an old overgrown cactus. Buried underneath that cactus for God knows how long was this.

    13 linked rounds with crazy looking necks, no projectile, and no primer strikes. Are these some kind of blank, or maybe used in an old powder actuated tool? I've never seen anything quite like this. .223 round for size comparison.

    Defiantly blanks. Can't tell the caliber by the pic.
    Steel wool the bases and I'll bet something shows up.

    Maybe M60 blanks after trying google. Headstamp reads LC81. They look like .308.

    That's what it looks like but didn't want to say. Lake City manufactured in 81
