Savage 99 Featherweight, pre '64 in 95% condition in .308 with 150 gr factory loads. Does 1" at 100 yds which is ideal for the timber where the shots are 50 and under. This is a bucket list project to harvest a deer with the 99. Option 2 is my M1A Scout with handloads.

My wife will hunt with her Remington Model 7 in 6mm Rem.

I'll either take my Ruger #1 in 280 Rem or FNH Patrol Bolt Rifle in 308 Win. Still can't decide yet.

That 6mm Model 7 was only made a couple of years, I've still got my dad's. One of my favorites.

I have a Remington 6mm which has harvested many deer with and will pass on to my grandson, but this year I am starting a bucket list. The Savage 99, my M1A, followed by a Winchester pre-64 model 64 in 30-30. Finally, I want to use my rebuilt Remington 700 in .308 that my son converted from an ADL to a BDL. This was my first deer rifle and it has harvested all types of game over the years. He refurbished the stock and it looks brand new. He built one for Sticky Stokes which was a great hit. I admit I was jealous because it turned out gorgeous, then he did mine, WOW.
