Probably just sit around and ***** at stuff on a gun forum.

Honestly, I’d find a sales job..
There is a saying out there that says there are two ways to get rich. Sales and owning a business. But it's a two handed sword.
I was a purchasing agent at one time and dealt with sales folks daily. Some were in it to make a living, and some were in it to make a good living.
What happened to those that wanted to make a good living, (get rich) is that their employer pretty much shut them down, and it cost both parties.
For example: When I was the purchasing agent, we had a sales guy that had a hell of a pitch about rebuilding electric motors.
We are talking 10 hp to 500 hp, AC and DC. drives.
He was a commission sales guy and he took that small company down by the OKC stockyards into a multi-million dollar business with a million a year going to him for sales. The business owner wasn't making near that amount and he cut the commissions down to a street level sales guy. He quit, the business suffered and is still there but is back to a small local 1HP to 10 hp motor repair business with the owners salary cut in half.
Sales folks can make or break.

Reply to the above Dennis. What happened?
Sometimes IMO if you are smart business owner and do not let your ego get in the way. You can let the sales guy have all the glory and make all the big bucks he wants to make doing what you hired him to do. That is what he pitched he would do if you hired him. Right? Keep taking care of him well, paying him the outrageous commissions he is "earning" , giving him the perks, most likely the deal you made when you hired him, and just keep depositing the checks minus the outrageous commissions you agreed to in the bank. Bottom line, just because you are the owner does not mean you have to get greedy. You gave him the option of a deal, go out and make me and you a lot of money. In the background you are now going to renig on the deal because he exceeded your expatiation? Seems you have a flawed business plan.

I have no idea of percentages, but let's think radical. 1/2 of a little of his efforts is something. 1/2 of a whole lot more is a whole lot better.

Been there, done that, had that same feeling writing monthly big commission checks to a super salesman. Really Hurt my finger writing those big monthly commission checks with the pen. (I never really liked him as a person in any way, he was a real *******) but I got over it when my whole body felt better reading my monthly bank statements. Just doing business. JMO

Original Poster. I have a lot of Ham Radio friends, given me a great deal of insite. Everything in life is from "our" perspective. To even post option #3, I would suggest you take a broader view of the real world outside your immediate situation.

One of my ham radio friends has a bag for his pee, another bag for his poop, on dialysis 4 days a week. You can imagine what he is capable of in between, He is on ham radio absolutely every night at 10 pm in the Tulsa area talking and laughing about everything. Laughing about things that most of us do not even consider funny. Hell, he beat the odds that he would not be able even to wake up this morning. If I was in his position, I hope I would be laughing also.

We are all temporary, dealing with what life throws at us till we are done. Myself, I am not giving in. they are going to have to drag me away. I do not talk too much about firearms here, been in a 4 year prolonged big buck divorce settlement. Yep, only have the one firearm I carry in my boat, Right? Yep I am down, thinking I will need to sell one of my airplanes to resolve this issue. It is all in your perspective. We all have real life, but all we have is life.

Like my ham radio buddy "laughing Jim" He does not stay on the radio too late at night. His absolute priority in life is to get up each morning early to have his coffee sitting in a chair with his garage door up to watch the sun come up each morning. He hates cloudy days with the sun hidden behind the clouds, but he knows it is light, it will get better after a while. Kinda simple, but kinda important to him. He knows there might be one more day.

It is all in your perspective. I am just an old guy getting older, but the best advice I can give you is "Get your mind right Luke." Myself, I have a few more rocks on my bucket list to go pee on before I am ready to be done.

Hang in there, there might be something to laugh about some day,

I have "some what" tried to do this...preparing for retirement and for me...wanting to continue to work...part time.

For the future....I have a teaching degree and if necessary would use it. I have a class "A" CDL and in the future...with a passenger endorsement intend on using it in Vegas. Transport people to and from the airport. Science degree...Environmental Consultant.

When in Vegas...I have asked a gazillion people what their job title is and how they got their job....casino jobs. To strive toward in the future in Vegas.

When I "retire"...I still want to do something...even if it's part time. All my buddies who have retired and just sat around the house watching who-ever is on tv...didn't live long. Plus...I gotta move...do something in Vegas...clean the restrooms to be the CEO of a casino..to drive a dump truck to teach to...well you get it.

If I can't climb the mountain I'll fly over it, go around it, dig a tunnel under it. I hope I die at a poker or blackjack table...either working it or playing.

Gonna die with my boots on!!!

Living in an RV and traveling the country is great. Seeing this great nation's beauty helps to keep one's interest high.

Age sneaks in and before we know it we’re old. Muscles weaken, joints ache, vision blurs. Now you’re on a first name basis with a dozen doctors, a cabinet full of prescriptions and your medical insurance company hates seeing your name on the caller ID.

I spent almost thirty years dragging hoses into burning houses and working a variety of jobs on my days off. I get notices almost every week that someone I knew or worked with has died. I got one last night. Finding things to do to occupy my time that I can physically do and take my mind off things is a daily challenge. I spend time reloading and shooting a few competitions, watching movies and taking care of my house and critters. And then there’s the Internet.......

I'm getting a CDL when I retire. Lots of driving jobs either over the road or local so you can be home every night. Those oil tankers rigs that run a daily route get paid real good, just to collect oil on a local route. Start when you want and be home when the route is done.
What are you currently doing?

Number 2 was the way I went due to being medically retired after 17 years in the service. The third option is a permanent move for a temporary problem, and is not a choice at all, so dont even entertain the thought.

This is exactly right. Number 3 is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. What you can do in the mean time is try to adapt, and pray.
