When the Republicans were serious about National Park carry, they attached it as a rider to a must-pass funding bill.

While I disagree on principle with such logrolling, it's not forbidden in the US Congress; when they really want to get things done, they know how to make it happen even against opposition. Failure to do so is, itself, a signal.

That's because ONE Republican was serious, Coburn. The rest of them dithered and frittered away their power on things that were important to them, not the people.

Americans are too spoiled. Most Americans have no idea how good we have it. To think of the stuff the men and women had to endure so we could become a new nation that was free. Now most people sit around thinking our nation will always be free and we will never lose our rights. Well we have been on our way to collapse for a long time. I am so sick and tired of the belly aching about how things are but no one is willing to do anything about it. Everyone just keeps on doing the same thing which is vote for the same idiots or the idiots that run against them. None of us should even vote. Our vote is meaningless. I have said it many times that if our founders were alive right now they would have revolted. We piss on every single one of their graves by doing what we are doing now. Which is nothing but allowing a tyrannical government to rip apart our constitution and our nation. Our government is so far out of control its just downright sickening. Our founders told us to replace our government if it got out of control. Yet we are too big of wimps to do anything. There is no such thing as we the people anymore. We don’t have the power anymore. The government has it all. IF they decide to pass a bill banning semi autos what will we do about it? I’ll tell you. Nothing. Everyone in the gun community will beat their chests and complain but nothing will be done to actually reverse the tyranny. Meanwhile the Supreme Court won’t hear the case so it would be a done deal. We are headed toward this folks. We always talk about the left vs the right but let’s face it. They are all the same. None of our reps and senators are out to uphold the Constitution. And if there are any that actually try to they are denied any power within the government. Our country will not be free for much longer. More and more radicals are being elected and it’s only a matter of time before we get a radical president and a democratically controlled house and senate. People think the Supreme Court having more “conservatives” will keep that stuff from happening but it won’t. They don’t do a dang thing about the stuff being done in California and other places like it. Our government continues to grow larger and larger and their power continues to grow as well. This country is a mere shell of its former self. It’s still the greatest nation on earth but I guarantee that ain’t gonna last much longer. This younger generation coming up is mostly on the far left and they accept socialism. These are the people that will run our nation. But we may not even make it that long. Every time I see our pathetic leaders such as Pelosi and Schumer I want to puke. They care more about illegal criminals than they do their own citizens. There is a reason the government has been restricting the 2A for so long. They are inching closer and closer to disarmament so they can remold this nation into what they want it to be. Many in our government aren’t even afraid to say they want disarmament now. They grow more and more bold by the day. What in the crap is it gonna take to wake people up?
