First data credit card company.I worked in one of their buildings for a year and saw several of the people that were in the call center that had ankle bracelets. These were the people that had your credit card numbers and you called them when there was a problem.Every few days an employee would be told that they were getting an award for outstanding service and to go up to a certain room.Once in the room the doors would lock and the cops would escort them out another door.

About 18 years ago one of my fellow AT&T technician's wife got on with the call center in the same building we worked in. She gave it 6 months and decided it just wasn't her cup of tea. When she gave her 2 weeks notice her manager didn't know what to do with it. She said no one had ever given notice before, usually they either simply stopped showing up or just ran out of the building crying.
A guy who used to work for me said that one of his prior jobs was working at that call center in Norman south of the Postal Training Center. I think he said he made it almost a week before he quit. He said the only thing worse than the calls were the managers in the call center; he said when he finally got fed up and quit, his immediate supervisor tried to stop him, telling him he couldn't leave until his shift was over.

That didn't quite work out the way he expected.

I let my wife take care of customer service issues. When she gets done with them, I'm sure they are rolled up into the fetal position in a corner somewhere. That's the way she leaves car salesmen and street vendors we deal with in our travels. That woman is ruthless.
I'm going to go the other direction on an issue. I saw a mention of the VA.
A year ago they got a trigger on a semi annual test that drove them to do additional testing. I had two colonostophys, an Upper GI, and swallowed a camera that took a zillion pics on its way through the digestive system. Some minor irritation in the small intestine is all they found which has cleared up.
Wife and I both were impressed with the level of calls to us from the GI clinic in the OKC VA Hospital explaining what they found, what was going to happen and when it was going to happen. We have nothing put praise for that group.
I will agree that contacting them is a pain unless you capture the clinic's phone # and store it on your phone contacts.

SiriusXM. Ever tried canceling service? You have to speak with a live person to cancel your service. That’s all fine and good if a real person is accessible. Took me 2 days to get someone, then they disconnected in the middle of the call. Once my blood pressure came down out of the clouds I said hell with it, canceled the credit card on file, and sent them an email saying “consider my account closed”.

My wife as mentioned in another thread typically leaves these phone marketers in the fetal position when getting done with them.
The longer she has to stay on hold the madder she gets. She typically gets the XM for half price or less with the full subscription.
Use to like to listen to Stern until he went total anti Trump. He can kiss my arse now.

Lazboy. Needed a recliner, couldn't find flexsteel in stock that day, bought a lazboy. Found out how crappy the design and build quality is in the new lazboy furniture is a week 71. Rockers are keyed by two cheap dowels, breaking dowels is very common. Warranty covers the dowels as parts, $160 in labor to fix. Decided to spend $12 on some 1/2 bolts and fix it myself. It's a shame and a blessing. I like the comfort of the chair and was about to order the matching couch and loves eat, but I'll go with my gut and order the flexsteel in OKC.

We toured the Lazyboy factory once. They do piece work, putting out a chair every 12 minutes or so. The steel they use in the recliner foot is just pot metal. Wife and I both broke ours making them useless in the manual models.
Replaced them both with Thomas Payne electric models that have a fast action actuator. Some of the electric are so slow that it was unacceptable. The heater and vibrator are nice too.

You can usually get Sirius down to about $5 per month, sometimes for 6 months but more recently for 12 months. I hate that you have to keep calling at the end of the period to renew the rate, and we don't listen to it that much so will probably just cancel. If you tell them up front you are not interested at ANY price, you might be able to avoid going through all the offers before they give up and just cancel it. And of course, once you cancel you start getting offers in the mail for around $5 per month to come back.
