Just looked at regulations and I did not see magazine restriction on 5.56/.223. It use to be in there in bold print. I am assuming that has been removed.
Correct it has been removed.

Do we still have a magazine capacity restriction for semi-autos chambered in 223/556?
We don't have a mag capacity restriction for deer.

I think @dennishoddy would say otherwise. His WSSM is a barnburner. I think it's the .243WSSM?
Yes, that’s correct.
Took a doe last year At 490 yards with the .55 grain Nosler ballistic tip that leaves the muzzle at 4170 FPS in the 1-12 twist upper.
Killed several at close to that range with the 1-8 twist upper using 80 grain Barnes that run 3400 FPS.
No elk yet but feel fully confident that a Barnes 100 grain solid copper TTSX would take an elk cleanly at ranges out to 300-400 yds but past that I’d have to vote on a heavier bullet to retain kinetic energy. Elk are tough critters.

Local pawn shop has a SR-25 in .243. They’d take $1200 but haven’t researched them at all.

I’d planned on building a 350 Legend mainly because of the density of houses within 500-600 yds.
