No, not at all.
I'm a low-speed, low-capacity kinda guy. Kahr CW380 or K40, couple of different j-frames, a Colt Agent. If I'm feeling especially tactical I'll bring an extra magazine or speedstrip.
The finish on the 642's are notoriously fragile. My daily carry look like hell...
And yes, my J-frame is my daily carry. I carry it around in my hand...
I carried my Ruger LW CMD 1911 today while in Elk City about half the day, carries well in a Simply Rugged Cuda holster. Might even wear my 66-2 4" every now and then if close to home. Nowadays if I travel any further than Elk City or Woodward, I have my Sig M18 on for the higher capacity though...
Yes ... The "clear-coat" finish they use on the frames of some of their Performance Center revolvers is not very durable. And they know that yet they still put it on guns with a one year warranty on finish.
Reading this thread the other day got me all instigated. Went and dug out my ol’ 640 and started sporting it again some. Can’t for the life of me find my old speed strips. Every shop I’ve been in to ask about them looks at me like I’m asking for twisted towe for my matchlock.
Guess I’m gonna have to tote my extra bullets in the baggie with my sammich.
