Why are they all flat top now?

So I want an AR with open sights...found a bunch of uppers with the traditional front sight/gas block but why dont they have the traditional carry handle/rear sight anymore?
I get alot of people go to scopes, but if thats the case the front gas block would be cheaper to make without the sights on top.

Because hardly anyone forges the a1/2 blank. They do the A3 and if you want you can put bolt o carry handle sight

You can buy a carry handle with sights for a flat top. That's why the make F marked front sight posts.

I get it. I resisted giving up the BlackBerry for awhile cause I liked having the actual keyboard and not the screen keyboard.

because its a better design. mount a carry handle if you like it, that's what I did on my most recent build.
