More importantly, show me something... ANYTHING... that is risk-free. Literally anything. Breathing? Eating? Pooping?

People want "risk-free". Trust me... the ONLY thing risk-free these days is medical marijuana and CBD oil - and it'll cure whatever ails ya. ;)

I understand that research is being done to convert internal combustion engines to run on CBD oil. CBD will be found to be the solution to all of society's problems.

So the level of risk doesn’t matter because no activity is risk-free? :lookaroun

I guess if that works for you that’s fine, but I evaluate risk a little more carefully. And that was my point in the first place. Medical decisions are highly personal and individual. And risk itself is individual. We need to respect the differences in how each of us evaluate options and make decisions, especially in the single issue that has the most impact on our ability to live the life we want to – the integrity and health of our bodies. There can’t be informed consent without the freedom to refuse.

You've got more than a touch of arrogance, don't you.

This is the second time, in as many direct replies to me, that you have accused me of
    1) not carrying on an intelligent conversation,
    Or
    2) not even APPROACHING a "decent argument"

As much as you prattle about respecting others opinions, perhaps you should try it yourself.

Instead of attacking, maybe re-think the wording of your missives, prior to pushing the send button. I don't know (or care) what you do for a living, but I suspect that you suppose the people around you to be your intellectual inferiors. I can do without that sort of attitude.

I think I'm finished trying to interact with you.

Woah boy that’s a big question. I’ve spent ridiculous amounts of time over the last three years looking for answers to that question, and I’ve mostly found more and more questions. But there is some head-turning data out there, and there’s more all the time. You’ll have to allow me to take some time to gather some things together on specific risks, in between trying to catch up on work after being sick for a week (don’t worry, I’m fully vaccinated other than the flu) and doing my own amateur title research on a house I want to buy. In the meantime, I’ll leave you to consider the non-specific risk that there’s a lot we don’t know about vaccine safety. For one, we have a very limited understanding of how the immune system works, and most vaccines administered today were invented in times when we knew even less. That makes it difficult to predict possible detrimental mechanisms that cause side effects or injuries. Second, while vaccines undergo testing and monitoring for safety, it is difficult to design informative studies on the safety of individual vaccines or the vaccine schedule as a whole due to ethical constraints and limited data, such as extraordinarily small sample sizes of unvaccinated individuals in most general populations. That combined with the fact that the standards for testing the safety of vaccines are not as stringent as those for ordinary drugs (e.g. a vaccine’s safety can be tested using a formulation other than what will actually be sold and administered, namely with different adjuvants) means what we don’t know about the safety of vaccines is probably much greater than what we do know. When you add to all of that the quietly growing evidence of various poor outcomes among children who receive the most vaccines and who receive them very early in life (which I’d like to identify more thoroughly as time permits), the need for more caution than is commonly recommended for evaluating the use of vaccines is clear.

when i was in the first grade the polio vaccine was being tested, we were the test subjects. every first grader in the country was injected, cepting maybe some who hid away. they gave us this funky little pin declaring us polio pioneers for being the test subjects of the series of shots. we routinely got shots at school up until the 6th grade. 1st to 6th grade i had the mumps, measels, chicken pox, and the first "asian" flu outbreak. i guess they had not yet developed the vaccines for the things i came down with, but had they perhaps i would not have spent weeks in bed recovering.

bajillions of chicken eggs were used developing and supplying the polio vaccine, horses are used to produce snake anti-venom (at least they were). if you ever had a classmate who had suffered a "mild" case of polio perhaps some anti folks might reflect upon their choices.

Interesting topic for a gun forum. One of those things that personal opinions override popular thought as well as the thoughts and medically savvy experiences of many Health Service Professionals. We too oppose abortion, we also feel we have the responsibility to assist the Government in their attempts to create a country free from as many disfiguring/deadly/life altering diseases that it possibly can. After 24 years, 5 months and 3 days of active Federal Service, being inoculated against everything from the Flu to Smallpox to Anthrax (13 times). The need for the vaccinations is evident as close contact in large groups is a recipe for disaster without the protective properties associated with the vaccines. It is bad enough when a few Soldiers get a cold and it passes around the barracks quickly, a true outbreak of say Flu B could and most likely would create a Unit that is depleted of all Combat effectiveness. Children are the most susceptible of all humans as their immune systems are often not capable of defeating the diseases alone and WILL certainly fall to the diseases that could easily be inoculated against. I applaud your decision to voice your family beliefs and hold true to them, but in the same context, my family feels that if there is a reasonably safe and well accepted method of prevention, then it seems silly to risk exposure of our youngest generations to diseases that potentially WILL Effect them if contracted. YMMV.

If the other child is vaccinated, my child can’t infect them. Isn’t that the point of vaccination?

Once scientists develop vaccines using non-fetal means, we’ll be more than happy to vaccinate. Hypothetically, what if instead of fetal cells of two aborted fetuses, these vaccines were developed using tissue from Nazi medical experiments on Jewish Holocaust victims. I wonder if society would be so quick to use such vaccines?

Again, if you are vaccinated, why do you give a sh*t whether I do? Theoretically you are safe.
